Original Andrews Salts

I’ve just submitted my Young Musicianage project and it feels as if a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Technically it has, having carried the mountain of work to Racodac all the way from home. But you know what I mean.

Why exactly it has to be handed in today, however, is beyond me; the critique isn’t until tomorrow.

The extreme heat today is unbearable. Yet I’m standing here in front of a barbecue cooking food. And my fingernails, it would seem.

Wow! Doctor Who’s series finale tonight was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. The final moments in particular were amazing, ranking second place on my list of the best series endings (of anything) to date.

I am so glad that I gave the programme my proper attention thirteen weeks ago, otherwise I would’ve missed out on such a brilliant series. I’ve even delved into some of the earlier episodes: An Unearthly Child, The Three Doctors, Genesis of the Daleks and City of Death. Not to mention my ringtone for the last month or so has been a techno version of the theme tune.

Seriously, I’m *really* into Doctor Who at the moment and will be stocking up on more of the older episodes as soon as I get myself some bunce.

Finally, well done to Christopher Eccleston for shining as the doctor throughout. You were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.

And d’you know what? So was I.

Boy do I feel cheated of my hard-earned print credits - ten squiddles it cost me to print Young Musicianage. And even then I had to change the fonts because Racodac didn’t have Helvetica installed properly. How very annoying.

Cease

Young Musicianage is now completely finished and ready for printing at Racodac tomorrow. Yey.

I slimed me

I’ve just sneezed and it sounded exactly like a proton pack starting up. Excellent.

Another bit of fluff

Last week’s lecture continued today, this time looking at deeper meanings to magazine advertisements.

Now, I know that in art/design everything is included for a reason. But looking at the adverts today as we did was taking it far too far. I don’t care who the tutor is - you can’t tell me that the designer thought *that* much about their creative reasoning. Yes, they designed as they did for some reason. But for goodness’ sake - sometimes things just look good.

Mind you, the tutor’s reaction to mishearing “doggie-style sex” as “donkey-style sex” when another student compared the pose of an advertisement to the former really got me laughing.

Twenty-two frames have been removed from my Young Musicianage title sequence. That’s like twenty-one whole frames and a whole other one too.

Or “Young Musician” as the Beeb prefer to call it.

I went to Racodac this morning just to ask the tutor a couple of questions about my synching problems yesterday. In and out in less than twenty minutes, I then returned home with haste to carry on working. And I’ve been sitting here since.

The finished sequence is exporting as I type this. But I am twenty-two frames (not even a second) over the limit, which I could be penalised for. So I’ve emailed the tutor to see if I need to lose some frames before submission next Monday.

Until I hear back from him, I’ll be working on the Young Musicianage website. And after that, other than printing and mounting everything, I’ve only got that title sequence to do then I’m free until October.

I like the sound of that.

Why are you speaking so quickly, sir?

The whole of today has been spent working on my Young Musicianage title sequence. It looks ruddy good, but I’m having trouble synchronising the animation with the audio as they won’t play simultaneously.

I’m going to have to ask the tutor where the setting is tomorrow as it’s pointless carrying on now. Did I mention it looks good, though?
