Attack of the Giant Savage Completely Invisible Aliens II

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 9:14 pm

I’ve got a great idea for a new film. I’ve been kicking about ideas for ages, but I’ve finally thought of something original. The only bugger is the story is very complicated and it’s already doing my head in just trying to write down the gist of it.

Not to mention my pencil needs sharpening.

Infinite nothingness

toilet-roll internet will be returning to the Interweb later this year. There, I said it.

Keep your eyes out for the WKD dentist television advert. I do believe it’s the first advert that I’ve ever laughed out loud at.

Update: Watch the advert online here. (QuickTime or WMP required.)

What does the red spectrum tell us about quasars?

Microsoft’s new operating system is to be called “Vista”. I personally much prefer “Longhorn”, as not only does it sound far more interesting, I can see endless possibilities for logo designs.

What the hell is a “vista” anyway?

Did not see *that* coming

Today’s update on the official Red Dwarf site reveals that Tikka To Ride has been remastered to demonstrate “how the series *should* have looked” CGI-wise.

This has come as a mahussive surprise, but I’ll reserve proper judgement until I see the effects in motion. The stills look fantastic, though.

Eating as much as an elephant eats

Similarly to my post two days ago, Cadbury have come back to me about another of my white chocolate orientated suggestions.

What amused me more than their reply, however, was the sender’s name. Now, there’s nothing amazingly funny about the name “Charlie” at all. But it’s Charlie from the chocolate factory!

Pathetic, I know. But it did make me chuckle.

An adventure as big as life itself

Compiling a proper list of my favourite films has proved a very difficult task indeed. And no doubt this will change in time:

1. Edward Scissorhands
2 & 3. Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain versus Big Fish
4. The Star Wars saga
5. The Back to the Future trilogy
6. Fight Club
7. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
8. Clockwork Orange
9. The Shawshank Redemption
10. Dark City
11. Gattaca
12. Delicatessen
13. Being John Malkovich
14. Shallow Grave
15. Aliens
16. Electric Dreams
17. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
18. Nightmare Before Christmas
19. Evil Dead II
20. The Great Escape
21. Pulp Fiction
22. Starship Troopers
23. Shaun of the Dead
24. Cruel Intentions
25. High Fidelity

I know that it didn’t *need* to be done, but it’s good to finally have a definitive list of the top twenty or so.

And how exactly I came by that order shall be saved for discussion in the flesh.

A better biscuit

McVities‘ Consumer Services Department has come back to me saying: “Your suggestion has been forwarded to the Brand Manager.”

Fingers crossed that it’s a go ahead(!), as I ‘m really looking forward to tasting a white chocolate Penguin bar.

In a land before time

I’ve been playing my self-made compilation SVCD of THX Digitally Mastered logos (sad, I know) and I’ve realised that I’m missing something in life: A surround sound system of my very own.

Oh, not an asteroid belt!

My hair has started falling out. Bugger.
