I’m half crazy, all for the love of you

And my floppy drive keeps randomly looking for a disk.

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do

Because my computer crashed on Wednesday night, it would appear that I’ve lost all of my Mozilla bookmarks, Internet Explorer favourites and Feedreader feeds. Big fat hairy balls.

My computer just started going all weird at the time and I couldn’t even get into Windows without doing so through safe mode. Then I had to use System Restore to get things back to ‘normal’.

Yahoo! Messenger is the only thing I can think of that could have messed things up - because I installed it the same night and it tried to install its own bookmarking system. But I’ve had it on here before without any problems at all.

Still, whatever’s to blame it’s bloomin’ annoying.

2010

Someone in the Birmingham/Solihull/West Midlands area has been trying to get hold of me on the old blower for about a month. (Three times tonight alone.) But I always miss the calls and the phone just rings when I try to phone them back.

I can only think of one person that I know in this area, but I don’t even think they have my number. And most of my mystery callers aren’t so persistent, which is why I’d really like to know who this is. So if it’s you, could you please get in touch (or at least identify yourself) via email?

Alien abduction?

I’m 100% positive that they weren’t there last night, but I’ve awoken this morning with three small cuts (similar to paper cuts) on my nose.

My fingernails aren’t long or sharp enough to have done it accidentally during the night. And my bedclothes and pyjamas (well, birthday suit last night) have no buttons to them either. So where have these scratches come from, then? I desperately want to know and can’t think of a plausible explanation.

Answers on a postcard.

Not quite top shelf goods

Look what I spotted when looking for Plasticine in Gamleys:

Yes, The Bill action figures! How very amusing indeed.

You’re not human, are you?

You’re a ROBOT.

My stomach hurts through laughing so much today - at mine and Elliot S’ brainstorming for two thirty-second long short films.

They’re not going to be in any way groundbreaking, and most of the gags will only be appreciated by fellow Racodac goers. But we’re definitely going to have big laughs shooting and editing them. Even though we *have* to use sodding Apple computers for the latter.

The snug or the saloon or something

Storyboardage today - for that animation project. I’m not great at drawing, but what I’ve done so far looks pretty good.

There are going to be swishy spaceship doors in this film and everything. Excited? Well, you should be.

Billed for release

The first series of The Bill was released on DVD not too long ago. At the time, I thought it was a commemorative piece. Or at least that the set wouldn’t sell enough copies to justify the release of the following series. But I’ve just found out that the second series is to be released on 17th October.

I doubt that I’ll buy them, as I simply wouldn’t have the time to watch them ALL over again. Plus, The Bill is showing no signs of stopping (which is a good thing). So not only would there be no clear end to the collection, it’d cost far too much for a student tosser like myself.

Still, it’s exciting stuff isn’t it - knowing that there’s clearly a market for it. It also means that some fans are still hiding in the closet.

They’ve changed that terrible “Mmmm Danone” voiceover on one (and only one) of the Danone yoghurt adverts. It’s still annoying, but far less jarring.

In other news: I sort of fell down a hole earlier when crossing the road.

Fallen angel

So David “Gabriel” Kent has finally got his comeuppance on The Bill. A shame really, as his character turned out to be a rather good one. (None of that market trader stuff after all.)

They could’ve dragged his demise on for a bit longer, mind; it all seemed a wee bit rushed after such a long build up.
