Sleeping habits

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005 at 10:18 am

I’ve started not making my bed when I get up in the mornings - so I can flop back into bed at night and have everything just how I like it. Goodness only knows where the traffic cone came from though.

Collaboration with intent to supply

Racodac have set another project, one that I really don’t feel anything for - in an “I can’t be bothered” kind of way. The gist of it is, we’ve each been given different sections of the same song to animate. And the animations (which must share a common theme) are supposed to flow smoothly from the person’s before.

Yeah, like that’s going to happen.

Always Coca-Cola

I’ve got the bulk of my Final Cut Pro project done. I decided not to use Windows Movie Maker in the end. I can’t remember why. But I wish I had done - or used Premiere at least, as everything and everyone at Racodac was against me today. (You can’t use the same computer as last time, so you capture and edit from scratch - all for some other munchkin to come along and say that their work is on that same computer. Etc. etc.)

Still, holidays are coming.

Party babes on the loose

Last night with Katy B. was great. Perhaps most significantly, I learnt that she too craves a white chocolate biscuit bar of the mighty McVities Penguin variety. And this information was volunteered, I didn’t even have to ask.

Today, having taken all of the remaining decorations downstairs, I spent a fair while rearranging my furniture. And I’m not talking about my testicles ;-)

Soft and squidgy

The only condition of my living-in-the-loft-arrangement is that I get out/put back the Christmas decs from behind the walls of my room each year. (Hidden compartments of storage joy, you see.) So that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing all day.

In a twist to this gripping yarn, however, I am going out later. With a girl. Thank god I’m wearing all my coolest clothes.

Lesson of the day

If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well. If it’s not worth doing, do it at Racodac.

Give two reasons

The exam that didn’t happen last month - you know, the one that was definitely going to be rescheduled for “some point in the next fortnight” - happened this morning. A whole month later. Still, at least Racodac are getting better at organising things.

The exam was ridiculously stupid, one of the questions asking whether or not a countdown clock was something used on a popular afternoon quiz show. Really, for goodness’ sake.

Spellbinding

Filming with Elliot S. tonight for my software training project was probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever done. Roll on tomorrow when we’re shooting his half of the story.

The project is to produce a thirty-second promo of some aspect to do with Racodac - our submissions being assessed purely on the editing.

I’m sorely tempted to edit mine in Windows Movie Maker and not tell them. Not really to be defiant - just to make a point. Because Final Cut Pro (which we’re supposed to be using) is unlike any other editing suite. Apparently.

And foreseeing the tutors complaining that we haven’t taken the project seriously, I came up with this great idea to wear shirts and ties throughout. I mean, you can’t get more serious than that, can you?

Shock! Horror!

Jeremy B’s coming off at Christmas.

Little wotsits

Another old face has remolicurised… remolic… remol. Anyway, they’ve done that word that I can’t say - and after eight years of no contact. Bless the Interweb for bringing people together, eh?

Apparently, I am most remembered for being “quite big 4 ur age”. Well, if you’ve got it, flaunt it - that’s what I say ;-)

I do wonder if Katy B. remembers dancing with me at that discotheque though. “Dancing” being an exaggeration of course.
