Bananas, movies and aardvarks

Saturday, November 12th, 2005 at 8:50 pm

I post a request in a forum.
One week later = no responses.

I post the exact same request in the same forum, this time pretending to be a female user.
Twenty minutes later = eight responses.

Moral of the story: Tits get you noticed - even if they aren’t on show. But of course, we all know that.

You have been found unworthy

All will be judged.

Congestion suggestion

Thursday, November 10th, 2005 at 2:58 pm

According to the local paper, a congestion charge has been proposed to get into Brommers High Street. Seems a bit extreme for Bromley, eh? Then again, loads of people I know from outside Kent are always banging on about coming here just to go shopping - as if The Glades is a miracle retail experience or something.

They’ve obviously not heard of the InterWeb yet.

It was nearer Antwerp

I’m almost ashamed of myself; I’ve attempted to close running applications on my Windows system a couple of times in going to the left-hand side of the screen instead of the right - thinking I’m on one of those horrible Macs. (*shudder*)

What with yesterday’s shocking revelation, I’m beginning to think I’m ill. Other than that, though, the rest of the day has been peachy.

Serenity

O.M.G!

Although, I didn’t like the first twenty minutes-ish (after the escape sequence) so was sitting there greatly dissappointed, hoping it’d pick up. Then it got going and… well: WOW.

The more I watch anything Firefly the more I want more; it’s probably up there in my top five things of anything ever.

Hey, you with the pretty face

Amazingly, I haven’t even opened my Red Dwarf VII DVD yet. It’s weird, I’ve been waiting to get my hands on it for what seems like two ice ages. But now it’s here, I just want to save it until I really, *really* want to watch it. My main fear is not appreciating it as much as I should - because I’ve been in an odd frame of mind lately. And I’ve also had an unusually short attention spa - oh, look - jelly wrestling!

Sammy Jankis

I can’t recall a single thing that I’ve actually done with my day off today. Not because I’ve been lazy and done nothing - I just can’t remember what. (Things on my mind - or something to that effect.)

I’m sure there was something I was supposed to do too. But of course, I don’t know what it is and whether I’ve already done it. Hopefully I have, as I quite often go to do things and find that I’ve already done them. This is great when it comes to writing essays. But not so great when I discover that I’ve already eaten that packet of Doritos I was saving.

Amusing, as I’ve usually got a great memory - and in fact have just scored 91% on a BBCi memory tester. Extraordinary.

Upgrades

Sunday, November 6th, 2005 at 9:20 pm

My father has treated me to a big computer upgrade. And it’s all rather dandy indeed. True to form, though, I have already crashed the thing - after only three minutes of having it on for the first time. Takes skill to do that.

Gingerbred people

Saturday, November 5th, 2005 at 1:14 pm

It’s all kicking off in a forum I frequent - because of a comment I made about gingers. I wouldn’t mind, but what I said wasn’t *that* bad - and it was said in a humorous context anyway. But the way some people are carrying on I’m practically being called a Nazi.

I’ll see you in the spring

My Red Dwarf VII DVD is here - three days before general release. And damn, it looks good.

This is the penultimate series release, and the spines now read “Red Dwarf” when placed next to each other.

So yes, emotions are very high. And I’ve already got through a fair amount of tissues. Although probably not for what you’re thinking…
