I’m always correcting Elliot S. on his pronunciation of words. Not because he’s a pleb and can’t speak properly or anything - just because I can and because it irritates him. But one word that we seriously disagree on is the brand name “Sony”.

So I set up an online poll (sad, I know) to see how others pronounce it. The options I gave were:

1. Soe-nee (as in “sew, a needle pulling thread”-knee)
2. Sohn-ee (as in something Klingon sounding that rhymes with “bonny”)
3. Other - please specify in post

I thought the results would be pretty even. But I’m the ONLY ONE that’s gone for option two. Crikey O’Blimey, what a nob I am!
