It’s the freakiest show

Life on Mars: Excellent. Can’t wait for the second series.

The results are in. And my group didn’t win the Rave On Air pitch. Not to worry, though, as the panel made it abundantly clear that they would’ve run with our proposed Dave O’Nair channel brand had previous years’ ROAs been more successful. So in a backward way, we’re sort of winners.

My group’s pitch for Rave On Air went remarkably well, gaining many a laugh from all in the boardroom.

Thank goodness the project is over and done with now, though.

That’s never happened before

I’ve just overwritten a lengthy document thinking I was overwriting it with an updated version. I wasn’t. And I’ve just lost three pages of work.

Big fat hairy balls.

It’s such a pleasant feeling being reminded why I love Red Dwarf so much through actually watching it. I mean, it’s all well and good knowing that I love it. But without a viewing it sometimes seems a little matter-of-factly and I don’t get that “oh yes!” thought clicking in my mind.

In other words, I’ve just watched a chunk of the Red Dwarf VII DVD and it brought back fond memories of watching the series the first time round.

What does Dave look like?

In my first bit of fun for ages, having worked non-stop this week on Rave On Air while my team-mates were being unfriendly towards each other, I’ve spent today shooting & editing an amusing promotional video for use in the pitch.

I really needed something to raise my spirits and today’s events worked a treat. Probably because I got to dress up in various costumes, put on silly voices and play up to the camera. But also because… no, that’s it actually.

The height of maturity

Nina Hossain just blurted out “f*cks hunting” live on ITV News instead of saying “fox hunting”.

What with “bollocks” being shouted on BBC News a few days ago, what is the state of the news coming to? :-D

The Bill’s only on once this week - because of the sodding Brit Awards. You’d think ITV would treat The Bill better given that after Corrie it’s probably their flagship programme. But no.

At least Neil Stuke’s in it tonight. He’ll make up for no episode tomorrow. To an extent, at least.

I’m pretty sure that someone in the Beeb newsroom/studio shouted “bollocks” live on BBC News a short while ago. Not surprisingly, this amused me greatly.

I really, really love Life on Mars. In fact, I love it so much that I feel I’ve cheated in liking-so-much-ness. (“Cheated” because I rarely watch anything these days that I don’t find myself strongly liking - as if I can sense bad programmes & films, thus knowing to avoid them.)

But no, Life on Mars is definitely one of the best things on tele in recent years. Along with Doctor Who, of course.

And you sooo know they’re going to milk it for at least another series. Not that I wouldn’t enjoy another one. I’d just like a decent conclusion, what with everything else seemingly *having* to end on a cliffhanger these days.

Anyway, fantastic stuff.
