Okay, so my last post wasn’t the best ever. And I regretted the title before I even published it. But hey, even that was better than anything the episode itself had to offer.

Firstly, the fact that a Blue Peter competition winner had designed the alien was obvious; it’d been based solely on Fat Bastard from Austin Powers by the looks of it. And no, that isn’t that big a deal. But it felt as if the episode hinged on it, which is a no-no in my book.

Peter Kay also did nothing for me. But then, other than the Amarillo video and the John Smiths ads, he never has.

The episode was completely unlike Doctor Who - going against the narrative style of all previous episodes. And the Doctor and Rose were hardly even in it! Five minutes at most.

The most redeeming part of the episode was the end. That and Marc Warren’s performance, as I quite like him. Not that I watch Hustle; I just love Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis.

Update (18-Jun-06 @ 11:53 PM):
Mr Blue Sky was the best bit - can’t think how I forgot about that. Still, fact remains that the episode was disappointing. It seemed to build to something that never actually happened.
