Sec’s in the city

Sunday, April 29th, 2007 at 9:08 pm

This and last week’s Doctor Who episodes were quite disappointing. The story was fairly good and you can see where they were going - taking the Daleks into uncharted territory. But it didn’t quite work. The human-Dalek looked plain stupid. The pig idea WAS stupid. And most of the Yank accents last week were awful.

The episodes were entertaining but nothing special.

It’s too far away.

Jumble sale

Thursday, April 26th, 2007 at 10:47 pm

I wasnee expecting the just-over-£500 profit we made from today’s jumble sale at Racodac. Nay indeed. Fair enough one man’s rubbish and all that. But such a high amount from selling donated clutter was quite a surprise.

I managed to purchase one of the better items of the day: one of those 3d pin art sculpture things. I’ve wanted one for years, if only to make an imprint of my nob. But small matters aside, it turned out to be quite a fun day. And rather tiring for those of us who actually, you know, put some effort into it.

I’d steer clear of the pepperoni if I were you.

They’ve set the new Tetley’s Tea television advert to the theme tune of The Addams Family. How bad a match is that?!

Is he having a laugh?!

I didn’t see past the staaarta

I’ve written some cracking post titles for this here blog but I think I’ve raised the standard with this one.

When I first saw the trailer to 300 I thought it was an advert for a computer game. When I realised it was a film I wanted to see it, swayed by the stunning visuals. But having struggled to see past the first twenty minutes earlier, things weren’t looking good.

I think I lasted thirty-five minutes all in all; it was really boring and life’s too short to stick it out. So a jam doughnut with Ambrosia Devon Cussie in bed it is for me now, and I’m going to watch Chalk instead.

Triplets on board

Today was landmark, for I saw close friend Daisy C. for the first time in three years - having been reduced to electronic-only contact since university commenced in 2004. My hadn’t she grown. Well, she hadn’t actually. But we had a fine day regardless - endless catching up in a beautiful woodland/park type place with a myriad of smiles & laughter throughout.

Slight awkwardness would’ve been understandable despite our frequent contact - purely because three years is a long time. But there was no awkwardness or bumbling communication whatsoever - it felt more like an extended weekend away than three years. Everything flowed effortlessly.

I’m very much hoping it won’t take three years until the next time.

Next time, Gadget - next time! Mwaaaah.

Thought it was gold but it was bronze

Ricky Gervais is a funny chap, but this photograph used on MSN UK today had me laughing for the wrong reasons:

Could he look any more hotel-motel?! A bad choice of photography methinks - but entertaining all the same.
