We don’t do that much salvaging

Thursday, June 7th, 2007 at 2:13 pm

My interview at Paramount Comedy this morning could not have gone better. Well, getting there could’ve done - the Transport for London website is possibly the most unreliable website I have ever encountered. But enough of that, the interview-proper went excellently.

My favourite answer was probably to the question: “In one sentence, why are you the best man for the job?” - to which I responded: “I am a confident, competent worker, with a good sense of humour and generally… a… nice… chap.”

My video work (including my completed Major 2 and previews of my Major 1 and Negotiated Group projects - which my tutors haven’t even seen yet) went down a treat. And until I stated otherwise the DVD covers I took to demonstrate my print skills were thought to be the genuine articles that I’d simply ‘brought along’. Perfik.

The rest of the day has seen me keying out footage for my Negotiated Group project. Looks pretty damn good if you ask me. And even if you don’t - which you probably won’t.

There, I’ve gone and answered that tree-falling-over-in-the-woods -being-heard-question now. It’s just not right. Not right at all.

Couch Potatoes

Sunday, January 14th, 2007 at 3:06 pm

I was up until 5am this morning finishing a title sequence due on Tuesday that I’ve been working on non-stop every day for the last week.

I’ve only *just* watched it back on a domestic television set and it really looks the shizzle! I am so pleased with it; it’s easily my best piece of work to date. Huzzah!

The turn of the earth

Thursday, September 8th, 2005 at 2:19 am

Displeased with the official 2005 Doctor Who series DVD cover art, I have spent the last six hours designing my very own.

I have to say it looks ruddy good. So good in fact that I’m sorely tempted to take it to a sci-fi collectory shop and ask them if they stock the title. To test the water, like.

Lunacy

I’ve brought a pint of water up to my new room but forgot to retrieve my coaster from storage before doing so. Knowing that I own the aforementioned coaster for this very situation, I refuse to just plonk my refreshing beverage down anywhere.

I’ll probably make a film about this gripping story one day - in proper widescreen and everything.

Attack of the Giant Savage Completely Invisible Aliens II

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 9:14 pm

I’ve got a great idea for a new film. I’ve been kicking about ideas for ages, but I’ve finally thought of something original. The only bugger is the story is very complicated and it’s already doing my head in just trying to write down the gist of it.

Not to mention my pencil needs sharpening.

Activate!

The computer that the computery read-out projects were projected from was running very slowly this morning. So by the screening of the fourth project playback was very juddery. It just so happened, though, that the fourth project was mine.

Still, I feel that the judderyness aided my presentation, as it allowed everyone to see the full extent of my attention to detail - something that would’ve been missed in a single fourteen second viewing.

But enough of that, as I’ve started working on a project completely separate from Racodac. And it’s already become one of my favourite pieces of work to date. Not that it’s anything particularly grand.

Mind you, it just goes to show what you can do with a few household items, a bit of sweat, and some perseverance.

A spermicidal fluid-dripping dung beetle

Sunday, February 20th, 2005 at 11:43 pm

It’s been a weird weekend, but I do have two great things to show for it:

  1. The first published review of the Red Dwarf VI DVD in the world.
  2. The second published review of the Red Dwarf VI DVD in the world.

Unfortunately, I did miss Columbo yesterday and Panic Room tonight to achieve this. But all in all, I feel it was time well spent.

The light switch

Saturday, February 19th, 2005 at 8:43 am

I had the sudden urge to tidy my bedroom at 2:30 AM this morning. So I got out of bed and did just that. Admittedly I didn’t get it finished, but it wasn’t looking too bad in the first place.

This morning-this morning, I was up and about before 7:00 AM, pacing the floor in the hope that my advanced copy of the Red Dwarf VI DVD would arrive through the post. And it did. Hurrah!

Since then, I’ve been watching it and taking notes, as I’m going to be reviewing it for this film website later today, and for my website tomorrow - both ahead of general release on Monday.

I’d better crack on, actually, as I’m going out in the evening too :-S

Bambi Goes Crazy Ape Bonkers with His Drill & Set

Saturday, February 5th, 2005 at 6:37 pm

I’ve had a brilliant idea for a feature film but sadly can’t do anything with it because Disney would sue me. Not that anyone at Disney HQ should be watching adult themed films to notice the parallel, mind.

Also film (and in fact, Disney) related: I was rather hoping to watch Kill Bill: Vols. 1 & 2 back-to-back later. Only Vol. 2 didn’t arrive in the post as it should’ve done, so I’ll probably make a start on my Luis Buñuel broadsheet instead.

Something nice about me

Monday, January 3rd, 2005 at 8:14 pm

I had a shockingly early night last night. But, as with every early-to-bed attempt, I was awake for far longer than I probably would’ve been had I gone to bed at the ‘usual’ time.

So I’ve devised this highly technical plan, which will hopefully do something for my sleeping pattern. Put simply, I’m going to be flipping my mattress over to see what it does. Nothing much seemed to happen the last time, see.

Waiting to go to sleep, however, a crazy idea popped into my head. An idea which I spent several hours researching this morning.

I’ve nothing concrete as of yet, but if I do go ahead with the idea, it’ll be the biggest project that I’ve worked on to date.

I also visited some rellies in Maidstone today. Whilst there, my slightly-older cousin, Zoë went on (and on and on and on and on) about various girlie things. Most significantly, she requested a mention on this here blog. And that’s not to say that my blog’s at all girlie.Ciao, Bella.
